When creating any website, Blog, or whatever web presence, SEO or search engine optimization should be 1st and foremost in your mind.  Successfully having your site be found on search engines is key to making money online.  With a little thought and research and using the info I provide, you can take advantage of the power of search engines to drive traffic to your site.  This will take time, but cost you no money.  Free is good... 

Getting Started on SEO
By this time, hopefully, you have decided on the type of website that you want to create to make money online.  If you already have a website, that's fine too, as this info will help you to increase your page rank in the search engines.  The 1st thing we need to do is to think of what someone would type into a search engine to find your site.  What we type into a search engine is called keywords.  If we are looking on how to make lasagna for instance, you would probably type in "how to make lasagna" or "lasagna recipes" for example.  These are keywords or keyword phrases.  We need to use these keywords on our site.  Staying with the lasagna theme and I have a website on making lasagna.  The 1st thing I would do is make the title of my page reflect keywords.  Something like this.  How to make lasagna, my lasagna recipe.  The content of the site should also include the keywords you want to use.  Very important.  Use the keywords in natural sentences. Don't try and repeat keywords over and over thinking it will help.  It will hurt your page rank and possibly even get your site de-listed from the search engines.  The next thing I need to cover is meta tags.  specifically  meta name description and meta name keywords.  These are the most overlooked things you can do on your site.  They do not show on your site, but are read by search engines.  You place them right below your title in your html.  Go to a website, click edit then view source.  Look at the top for something such as the following.      

<meta name="Description" content="How to make money on the internet. Unemployed, need a job, start making money online today.">

<meta name="Keywords" content="Make money, make money on Internet, unemployed, work from home, how to make money online, affiliate, affiliate programs, click bank, ebay, how to make money with ebay ">

The meta name description is exactly what it sounds like.  A description of your website.  Remember to include keywords.  The meta name keywords, is what people would type in a search engine to find you. Meta name keywords tag places more importance on the 1st keywords.  Descending order so to speak.

You need place different descriptions and keyword tags in each page.  Make sure your page title is also unique to each page.  Like I mentioned before this will take time and is some work.  However getting ranked high on search engines is well worth it.  There are a couple of other things I will explain in a future update.  I update this site weekly, so check back.
